Update on Hurricane Harvey’s impact

We are all saddened by the news of the devastation and destruction that Hurricane Harvey inflicted on the Gulf Coast this weekend, and the continuing crisis from flooding. Sodexo has 260 accounts and 4,900 employees in the region, and has accounted for nearly everyone with a few exceptions. We are asking employees who have evacuated and are now safe to call our Employee Disaster Hotline at 888 763 3946.

Many of our employees have stayed at work or taken extraordinary measures to get there to serve patients at hospitals, including the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and HCA Healthcare in Conroe.

Other employees are serving students and others who are sheltering in place, using the food and supplies they have on hand until trucks can get through. Employees at the Huntsville Independent School District are feeding 500 evacuees daily, Texas Southern University is serving 800, and Prairie View University is feeding 1,000.

We are feeding 200 first responders at Schlumberger, which is serving as a command center.

It is in difficult times like these when Sodexo employees rise to the occasion to help each other, our clients and customers, and our communities. We are mobilizing a team of volunteers to relieve employees who have been working around the clock to serve customers.

We have made it easier for our employees who want to help to donate to our Sodexo Employee Disaster Relief Fund that provides assistance for employees who suffer a loss as a result of a natural disaster by creating an online giving option at https://www.crowdrise.com/sodexo-employee-disaster-relief-fund-inc.
