Leadership Development Through Mentoring and the SWIFt Women’s Leadership Program
In working to eliminate gender balance issues, Sodexo Women’s International Forum for Talent (SWIFt) was chartered by CEO Michel Landel to support and cultivate the advancement of women into leadership positions. As an organization, SWIFt actively creates a culture of unbiased inclusion, which helps everyone reach their fullest potential. One way SWIFt helps to support and advance women throughout their careers is by providing access to mentors and sponsors. Thus far, several mentoring programs have been implemented throughout Australia, Canada, China, India, Chile, Colombia, United States, United Kingdom, Ireland and Belgium. In fact, more than 3,000 women participated in mentoring programs in 2015.
The SWIFt Women’s Leadership Program
The SWIFt Women’s Leadership Program is a comprehensive leadership initiative focused on the professional development of women and minorities in operations roles. This 12-month program provides exposure to senior leadership and works to further develop participant’s leadership skills, business acumen and competencies, and enhance confidence while driving their career progression. This program also helps introduce executives to
high-potential talent advancing through the pipeline.
The outcomes of SWIFt’s strategy are evidenced in the representation of women in leadership positions:
today 31% of senior leaders are women, exceeding our most recent goal of 25%.
