Sodexo Canada was recently named winner of the 2016 Tier 1 Champion of Supplier Diversity Award by the Canadian Aboriginal and Minority Suppliers Council (CAMSC).
From my perspective as an Aboriginal business owner who has worked closely with Sodexo since 2013, this recognition is richly deserved. Our company, Canadian Prairie Garden Purees (CPG), supplies Sodexo’s food service and healthcare divisions with premium quality fruit, vegetable and pulse purees.
This week, Sodexo participated in the “Upskilling America’s Workforce: Preparing for the Future of Work by Aligning Business and Education” conference, hosted by Manpower Group and Apollo Education Group at the National Press Club. This is a significant issue in schools, where exposure to allergens, such as dust mites, pests and molds can trigger asthma symptoms. (more…)

I represent Generation Z, a generation that spent our childhood taking care of virtual pets on Neopets and playing Pokémon Yellow on a Gameboy. We made Facebook accounts in middle school, as Facebook Memories likes to continuously remind us. We watched our parents cry during the terror attacks on the World Trade Center. We experienced “The Great Recession” firsthand. We saw millions of gallons of oil pour into the Gulf of Mexico. We witnessed our siblings terrified to go to school the day after the Columbine Shooting.
We’re a product of information, communication, and innovation. We’ve seen hardships not only on a national scale, but also on a global scale. The fusion of all of these experiences has led to a new generational mentality- one of strong work ethic, global understanding, and technological reliance. (more…)
